My Oath To You

Wherever you go, just always remember
That you got a home for now and forever
And if you get low, just call me whenever
This is my oath to you

Cher Lloyd – Oath ft. Becky G

Two Fridays ago, I hung out with my first ever adult BFF, Michele! A little more than a year ago, she was rudely whisked away by Charlene, her fiancé, and moved to Seattle.Thankfully, she visits when she can and I definitely do everything I can to see her. We speak on the phone maybe four times a year, but when I see her, it’s as if no time has passed.

Michele and I met at Red Robin in 2010. She started shortly after I did and one day, my shift was about to start when she was sitting in my section with her girlfriend, now ex, Taylor. I let them know they were in my section and Michele gave me the most awful bitch face I’d ever seen. I was terrified of her from day one. Soon after, I was able to see her true bubbly personality and we became best friends. On February 2013, at age 21, I dedicated a status on Facebook to Michele saying how much she and her frienship meant to me over the past three years. Here is a little excerpt:

Even though you put on a fierce/mean/bitchy personality (to those who don’t know you), you are actually the sweetest most caring girl I’ve ever met! I love you best friend! You are my little fiery red power puff! For now & forever! DON’T EVER LEAVE ME!

Although she ignored my request/demand, she ended up leaving to be with the love of her life. For that reason, I cannot be upset.

During Michele’s visit, we drank, we shopped, we drank and drank. It is tradition to buy best friend trinkets while tipsy drunk and celebrate our friendship when we catch up. We bought an unicorn keychain to represent Michele, elephant keychain to represent me, yin and yang bracelets to represent our friendship, and matching sunglasses – just cause. Clearly, when you buy while under the influence, everything is the “cutest thing ever”. These snaps below are of our day together:

To end this post, here is the video I attached to my 2013 Facebook post:

Love you Meesh!
